Talking Stick Resort to light up in teal for World Fragile X Awareness Day on July 22
An effort to raise awareness for Fragile X Syndrome

SALT RIVER PIMA MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY, Ariz. (July 16) Talking Stick Resort, an
enterprise of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, will be lighting its building up in
teal on July 22nd to raise awareness for Fragile X Syndrome. Three hundred and eighty three
locations around the world lit up in 2022 to recognize Fragile X syndrome and Talking Stick
Resort is excited to be part of the movement this year.

World Fragile X Day is the initiative of FRAXA Research Foundation (www.fraxa.org), the
leading non-profit focused on funding research for effective treatments and ultimately a cure for
Fragile X syndrome. Fragile X syndrome is a rare genetic developmental disability that is the
leading known cause of both inherited intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder.
Raising awareness for Fragile X syndrome is crucial as it helps to accelerate progress toward
effective treatments and ultimately a cure. Treatments for Fragile X syndrome are also likely to
help people who have Alzheimer's or other brain disorders.

Talking Stick Resort installed LED lights on the west facing side of its hotel tower in 2014 as a
means to reflect the excitment inside the hotel, but also build excitment for the ever-expanding
Talking Stick Entertainment District. In recent years, the property has usedthem to build
awareness of causes important to the Enterprise and its employees. Fixed to the building in long
acrylic strips, the lights can display 16.7 million different colors, many of which cannot be
discerned by the human eye. They are fully programmable and can be configured to display an
infinite number of designs and messages on the building.
