TALKING STICK RESORT PRESENTS A LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

Resort-wide Festivities All Day Jan. 25 Starting at 11 a.m.

SALT RIVER PIMA-MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY, Ariz. (Jan. 15, 2020) Talking Stick Resort will host the ultimate Lunar New Year celebration Saturday, Jan. 25 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The resort will transform with elaborate décor and an extravagant Lunar New Year vignette as guests enter the property. Along with festive decorations, guests will enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine, live entertainment and a $15,000 Red Envelope Giveaway.

Cultural entertainment can be seen throughout the property from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Award winning martial artist, stunt performer and actor, Kenny Perez, will perform Chinese Mask Changing. During Chinese Mask Changing, the performer changes his disguise multiple times with a turn of a head and flick of his hand to tell a mystifying story. It is considered one of the best forms of entertainment for Chinese New Year. In addition to mask changing, traditional Chinese dance performances will be showcased by the Arizona Art Academy and the 9 Dragons Lion Dance Team. Chinese Lion Dance has been performed for centuries to provide entertainment, protection, and good fortune.

Beyond entertainment, some of the resort’s eateries will add specialty food and drink items to its normal menu from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The award-winning Wandering Horse Buffet will celebrate with Char Siu Duck Drumsticks, Hand Made Vegetable Egg Rolls and Lucky Fried Baskets with Pot Stickers, Crab Rangoon, and Pork Egg Rolls. Black Fig Bistro will serve Fresh Shrimp and Vegetable Spring Rolls, and Tofu and Vegetable Spring Rolls. Blue Coyote Café will feature Chicken Dan Dan Noodles. The Arena Poker Room will have Beef and Fried Noodles and Five Spice Salmon with Orange Sauce and Broccoli.
