SALT RIVER PIMA-MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY, Ariz. (Feb. 16, 2018) Prolific stand-up comedian, Dane Cook will make his Talking Stick Resort debut this summer. Bringing his one-of-a-kind blend of acerbic wit and boy-next-store charm, Cook will perform in the resort’s Salt River Grand Ballroom on Friday, June 1.
Cook started his career stand up in New York City in 1994, but it was four years later after a move to Los Angeles in 1998 that he got his big break, an appearance on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend.” In 2003, Cook released the first of several hugely successful comedy albums including, “Harmful If Swallowed,” “Vicious Circle” and “Rough Around The Edges: Live From Madison Square Garden.” His 2006 release, “Retaliation” became the highest grossing charting comedy album in 28 years, going double platinum.
Beyond his work in stand-up, Cook is known for his work in film. Most recently, he reprised his role as the voice of “Dusty” in Disney’s animated film “Planes: Fire & Rescue.” His other film credits include, “My Best Friend’s Girl,” “Dan In Real Life” and “Mr. Brooks.”
